Beyond My Reality Poem by Melissa Coventry

Beyond My Reality

Rating: 5.0

Further then these rolling hills
Beyond this sky’s powerful thunder,
Longer then these boundless sea,
I long to seek safe refuge.

Higher then the mountains of Venus,
Soaring above these volcanoes,
These clouds in the Earth’s sky,
I crave to take wing.

Yet I stay,
Closer to this empty home,
Where the sky is lucid and full of dust,
On these continent plains,
I stay, I stay.

Deeper is a desire to go,
Under the warm ground,
To a level so profound,
Be part so small of the worlds toil.
I pray and pray and pray.

Lastly I want to see,
That lush and beautiful sight,
Of marvels beyond grasp,
Those gems of wonder,
In your eyes, only your eyes.
