Bible Stories: Job (Chapter Xxvi)

Job Spoke Again And Said:

How do you help the weak from harm?
How do you strengthen weak an arm?
How counsel you as if unwise?
How profusely do you advice?

In terror writhe the shades beneath,
And so do people and waters;
His thunder-like rebuke stuns them;
In ways untold, all He batters.

Stark-naked lies the nether world;
Uncovered stays Abaddon old;
The north is stretched in empty space;
The earth hangs without any base!

He binds the waters within clouds,
And yet, their weight can’t rent their shrouds;
He spreads the clouds to veil the moon
That’s full and bright, yet, covered soon;

Darkness and light can’t mix in deep;
His voice quakes Heaven’s pillars steep;
He stirs the sea by His power,
And crushes Rahab like flower.

Scatters waters, His angry breath
Hurls lightning on them ’neath!
His anger is so relentless;
He holds the dragon in harness.

These are but samples of His ways;
How faintly man hears what He says!
With whose help utter you such word?
Does not your breath come from the Lord?
