Birthday Poem by Edmundo Farolan

Birthday

Today's my birthday.
I'm 77.
I'm getting to be an old, old man.
How many more years do I have?
Only God knows.

Just live day to day
Until your final day.
I'm praying a lot now.
Preparing to face God
And answering his questions
On what I did with my life.

I'm praying for others too:
My family, friends, souls in Purgatory.
Interceding for all of them.
This poem is a prayer too.

A prayer so when you read it,
I'm praying for you.
And say a little prayer for me too.
