Bitterness Poem by Barry Middleton

Bitterness

bitterness comes and goes
like an old friend
I can always call it back

bitterness lingers
and if I let my guard down
its certain to attack

there is no bitter comfort
no escape from
responsibility

for I may blame another
but my will
was always free
