Black Eyeliner Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Black Eyeliner

I think you're beautiful when
you don't wear your makeup,
But when you do I think you like it
just as much as I do.
Being able to create & rearrange,
The way your sweat blends & mixes
Leaving stains on me as well as the pillows.
For us it's playtime, learning not to take
ourselves so serious.
I think you're beautiful just the way you are.
No matter how much we paint ourselves,
we're each other's canvas.
Your face a beautiful pastel of color.
Reflecting the way you feel on the inside
& I the artist ever so inspired by their muse.
Not too many men will admit that they enjoy
playing in makeup
But when you wear yours I am ever so inspired.
Especially when we paint the pillows in streaks
of jet black & blue pastel.
Revealing a side of ourself not ordinarily seen.
The foundation of who we are and who we hope
to become together.
The world our mirror, no matter how often or
less you choose to apply.
I'll be there
