Black Questions Poem by Raihana Abdul Jabbar

Black Questions

Rating: 5.0

Clothed in white, dark within,
Haunted by a million black questions.
I'd once lived in pride,
I had power, money and health.
When veils of death shroud my eyes,
I wonder, 'What do I have now? '
Am I to the orchard of glowing happiness?
Or am I destined for the deepest circle of hell?
This doubt, when shall it cease?
I'm dead, who cares for my words?
'If I'd been more careful...'
Voiceless, helpless, morose, guilty.
I wait for my answers.
