Blasphemy Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Blasphemy

!
The church herself is oft to blame
For many vacant pews
Allowing some in Jesus’ name
To falsify His news

Some say in Christ, they’ve made their choice
God’s living word is theirs
But never have they heard the voice
Of He who loves and cares

Whatever good they’ve come to speak
What reason they may tell
If Jesus’ face they’ve failed to seek
They walk the road of hell

Some dare to quote The Father’s Son
For gain, God’s truth they’ll share
There’s so much talking going on
But deeds are less than rare

It matters not how sweet they pray
However great the sight
Blasphemy’s spoken night and day
Disguised in robes of light

Some say, in Christ I’m born again
To hand I’ve Jesus’ sword
But still God’s name they take in vain
With “Thus says Christ The Lord”

Their deadly sin means nothing less
Than wearing Satan’s chains
Such dogs should all deceit confess
Or else their filth remains

Blasphemous stench The Father hates
However good they’ve lied
No dog will enter Heaven’s gates
Nor liar, reign inside…
