Blind To Reality - Poem by Brian Bwesigye

When you went without a word
I spent a fortnight weeping
Not so much for lost love
I became unconscious for two weeks
For my consciousness is in you.

When I saw you responding to others with a nod
I spent a fortnight sleeping
For I though I had lost my love
I could not think of who could answer my needs
For all my answers are embroidered in you.

When they told me about you
I could not recover the love seeds
For you had taken them like a dove
Which I imitated when we were speaking
Together about that sense called love

My dear
Recover my sight
By loving me again
For I am still blind to reality
