Bond Of Love Poem by John Masaitis

Bond Of Love

Mom and dad married had a baby boy
they both suspected there be another
but God had a different plan for me,
he gave me a sister and I will always love her.

We grew up as siblings normally do
playing, laughing, teasing and crying
most of all screaming, 'I will never talk to you! '
and yes, we both did our share of lying.

As we grew older, how were we to know,
that dad would leave in the dark of night
As our Godly family just started to grow,
soon there would be a devastating fight.

Then the darkness fell on our family four,
we were to young, sacrificed like a pawn.
As Mom and Dad split, soon a bloody war
as our dreams of family were now gone.

Then through the emotional hurt and pain
my sister and I torn between the two
there grew a 'Bond Of Love' I can't explain
more precious than gold, like a rose it grew.

Our Bond grew strong as we started to learn
their marriage ended they went their ways
we had each other when no where to turn
and our 'Bond Of Love' brought us brighter days.

I won't forget when we waited for her plane
separated, for the first time in our lives
than the tears poured down like a violent rain
and our hearts were torn with Satan's knives.

As Satan laughed, saying, 'I have surely won,
I have broken there bond for they are miles apart.'
God gave me peace, knowing our Love has just begun
cherished childhood memories now filled my heart.

When I moved back to Hollywood
the land best
then the rest
in the west
I never thought I would go through such hell,
I became an addict beginning a major test,
but my loving sister was there when I fell.

It was her turn now to give me advice
she did all she could to help me get well.
She would say she loved me not once but twice
addiction she would fight with me to quell

So finally my bondage from cocaine was free,
I could not have done it without you sis,
and I thank you for not giving up on me
for these are memories I will not miss.

What the future has in store I do not know,
I tell you as a friend and a brother
until death 'Our Bond' shall forever grow
God knew all along there could be no other
So he gave me a sister I will always love her
So on this beautiful Christmas day, the year 1992
this priceless gift on paper is from your brothers heart
these words I have written in a poem so very true,
Our precious 'BOND OF LOVE' shall never part.

To my sister I Love you Alecia
