Boredom Poem by Danielle Phillips

Boredom

It's just a state of mind
We are always on the go
When we stop we get bored
We always need something to do

Never are we satisfied
We always want something
Never can we apreciate
Our minds are glazed over

We must have the latest thing
If we don't we are bored
Or we aren't cool
We can never be content

We need to change
We need to learn
We need to be happy
We need to be ourselves

:) It's nice to stop and appreciate the things around you sometimes....instead of having all these machines around all the time to keep you company and such... Today I got really excited when i saw all these yellow butterflies flying around and i had to laugh at myself! ! Very insightful poem! ! ! :)

Truer words were never spoken! I haven't been bored since I was 16...a VERY long time ago. My trick was to find pride in the little stuff. The big things take care of themselves. For one of my poems about 'small things' see the poem Ritual Sunday. Oh yes, and there are poems about the big stuff among my poems, too. Val
