Born This Way Poem by Barry Middleton

Born This Way

Rating: 5.0

Forgetting so many facts,
but remembering the feelings,
is it a blessing or a curse?

A sadness that came in youth,
washed over me like a wave.
Some are born this way.

I read of this in a book.
Before that I only felt it,
but now I know it is the truth.

Some souls feel too much
the pain that others feel,
compounding their own despair.

Some souls judge themselves
against impossible standards,
always falling short.

We do this because the world
forgets and never learns.
It only remembers facts.

Some of us are born for feeling,
born to remember the sadness,
born beyond the irrelevant.

Thanks Kumarmani. They say feelings aren't facts but often they matter more.
