Botany Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Botany

Botany

Have you had a shower?
Yes dear, and changed my t. shirt too
you see, my dear, when I was in the amazon
collecting rare flowers, the local tribe called
me "the man who hates his face."
Did you find a rare flower?
Yes, my lovely, I found you.
But the botanist whom I was carrying his luggage
refused to accept the human rarity
that is why your name is in posh books about
botany

The tribesman were puzzled to see the botanist lavish so much attention on flowers instead of on human faces. Was he ashamed of his own face? He feared that if he gazed appreciatively into people's faces, people would take long looks at his face.
