Botany Bay

I am writing to say its over
everything between us is through.
I am leaving in the morning
on a convict ship
to a place called Botany Bay.
My only crime
was that of loving you.
I stole from the Gentry
to keep our bellies fed,
got caught and sentenced
to go away,
far across the sea
to a place called Botany Bay.
