Box Of Life Poem by Tabitha Christie

Box Of Life

When I was born, I got a little box.
Inside this precious box sat life
so delicately.
It was the most beautiful thing I had
ever opened my eyes to.

This thing called life was a mystery to me.
It came with no instructions
on how to work it,
nor could I stick it on a shelf
or play with it.
But I was told that this is the best gift anybody could ever receive in their lives,
and if I treat it right, I'll have it until the day I die.

As I grew older and studied this
valuable gift called life, I noticed
that it is miraculously incredible.
I treasured life.
It was foremost the best gift I could ever have.

I've seen people not care.
And I've seen people throw their lives away.
To them, their gift is just a ratty old
sweater that has unraveled to pieces all
because of a fray.

So for me, close your eyes and reopen them.
Ill be standing there to sew
your life back together.

I'll show you that life isn't all struggles and pains.
I'll show you all the happiness and smiles and
all that you can gain.

So open your eyes to a brand new sweater
Don't look back at that ratty old disaster, because
we will fill your box of life up with beautiful things
Just you and I
together.
