Break Poem by Mahima Prathaban

Break

I need a break and I need it now,
O Almighty guide me from above;
The monotonous schedule of day n night;
I want to break it; break it with all my might.

Waking up to phone alarms and sleeping with them nearby;
Smartphones are with us forever till we die;
Enough of gadgets - I've had them enough;
Enough of addiction - It has held me in cuffs;

Want to feel the breeze softly caress through my face;
Pelt a stone in water and see it vanish without a trace;
Want to watch the sea and enjoy the waves;
Want to drive very far and visit an unseen place;

The Almighty said: You are in charge of what you want to do;
Break all your mental chains and try something new;
Get up and go out and explore what is around;
Go find your happiness - you were always unbound.
