Bring Back Our Girls (I) Poem by Adesegun Adejugbe

Bring Back Our Girls (I)

Legacy of disdain
in the season of anomaly
despite all allegiance.
Season of sorrow,
despite nature beauty bequest;
Season of hope,
with the birth, of new era.

This gentle surround of rebels,
bringing captivity
on inhabitants
of a peaceful nation.
Harmless surrender
of victims in tears:
be not trouble my dears,
heaven knows
your abduction is unfair.
Without you Girls,
where is our posterity?

In this season of hope,
we hope for your freedom
with certainty-uncertainty;
and in our certainty-uncertainty,
We demand for your freedom
with alacrity,
hoping for your freedom,
at last.
