Brooklyn Bridge Poem by Obi Yindal

Brooklyn Bridge

Awesome.
And long.

There the boats,
The ships
Pass from under.

Pedestrians.
Automobiles.
Trains.
There they go upon her back.
Look at her colossal
Snake-like stretch
Supported by massive cables
And iron legs.

She holds intimacy
Between Brooklyn and Manhattan,
And brings them close
From strangers to neighbors,
From neighbors to friends,
From friends to one.
