Burden Poem by Ms. JStar

Burden

He was someone I was supposed to look up to
Now, someone I wish I never knew

Someone I was supposed to trust
Personal recovery is a must

Someone that was supposed to teach me how to be an adult
I felt as if I were at fault

What has been done has scarred me for life
Now, apologies will never suffice

You took a piece of my soul each time you hurt me
This burden on my heart I just can’t set free

You were supposed to be Daddy
