Burlesque Poem by Lamar Cole

Burlesque

Rating: 5.0

Burlesque they did detest.
So they stood outside the club to protest.
They were surprised when their pastor came out with a smile.
They couldn't believe that this was his style.
He told them that he was there to save the dancers' souls.
His story smelled more like dead fish than a rose.

Comically exaggerated imitation is disliked intensely by people in protest and this has provoked thought. An amazing poem is shared.
