Burn For Me Poem by Stuart Doggett

Burn For Me

Touch
Touch
Touch what it is.
Touch
Touch
Touch what it's behind.
Touch
Touch
Touch what makes me
Me.

Actions and reactions,
The particle effect,
As one destroys another
And burns for me.

I am only alive because the sun is decaying,
I can only survive because of something that's destroying itself,
It burns for me.

Slow disintegral suicide
Watched by approving eyes,
It tears itself apart
And burns for me.

I am only alive because the sun is decaying,
I can only survive because of something that's destroying itself,
It burns for me.

The light on my face,
The warmth on my skin,
Your final gift,
You burn for me.

Light the way before me,
Tendrils,
Shadows chasing after me,
Reaching,
Warm the world around me,
Out,
Thank you.

I am only alive because the sun is decaying,
I can only survive because of something that's destroying itself,
It burns for me.

It
It
It makes me
Me.
It
It
It lets me
Be.
