Bus Poem#5

We have come to the part of the poem called Tacet
Tacet means quiet. Tacet in Latin means 'hush'.
Tacet is where you the reader sit back
happy to let somebody else read for awhile;
Tacet means..............in the very clear language of music
(though the length of the tacet itself may easily vary,
in this way at odds with its musical counterpart.)
The reader himself determines the length of the tacet-
The reader herself determines it short or long.
Short or long, though, the tacet is time to be used-
grab a quick sandwich, replenish the meter with quarters
ponder the obits, telephone a sick friend
or just close your eyes for the flexible length of the tacet:
Do it! Take it! Work it! You deserve it
your gold-card prize for reading the poem this far.
