But Over And Above Poem by Peter Eliastam

But Over And Above

She saw a River, clear as crystal
Flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
Untrammeled, streaming down the city’s mall
Without impediment, impossible to dam.

On either side of it there stood
The Tree of Life, yielding its fruit at all
Twelve stations of the year. Its leaves of good
Were for the healing of her nation’s fall.

She joined The River, streams of Whom
Make glad the City of our God in Truth and Grace,
Where neither lies, nor lawlessness, nor gloom
May enter to defile Their dwelling place.
