By the river once, I stood I sighed
Watching the flow of life, I gazed I dived
Passing me by were tree, were vines
Deeper they sunk, the roots the lies
Fruits of wisdom, leaves of hues
Colorless shades, hanging loose
Thoughts filled me up, with hope with despair
Chaos stroke my mind, in one single glare
I listened I cried, to the world to myself
I giggled I laughed, at the irony of life
Little did I know, little did I care
As if by the river once, I never was there
Sitting by the riverside in silence brings many somber thoughts in mind. A nice place for meditation and peace.
