Caffeine Poem by Quênia Lalita

Caffeine

I smell caffeine
it's coming outta my pores

meanwhile, this brain is in the gutter
drinking from an imaginary cup

spilling over that red carpet
as it rushes, as it goes

I hear the caffeine shouting my name
an echo through planets, through multiple chagrins

my pacts weren't written in blood
they all exist in caffeine
