Can I? Poem by Monica Paris

Can I?

Can I have you? ........to hold me tight and never let go.
Can I have you? ....to cheer me up when I’m feeling low.
Can I have you? ....to kiss me softly and hold me close.
Can I have you? ...to be the person that you love the most.
Can I have you? ...to be there for me with your support and care.
Can I have you? ....to share with you something so precious and yet so rare.

Better yet~

Can I be the one? ...to hold your heart.
Can I be the one? ...to wipe your tears when you cry.
Can I be the one? ...to hold you close all through the night.
Can I be the one? ....to give your tummy butterflies? .
Can I be the one? ....to look deep into your eyes and be able to say, “I Love You! '
Can I be the one? ….to which in return, you say “I Love You too“?

Hi Monica - Your poems are a great challenge to all the Men in the Poemhunter Family. I have read several of your poems and chose this one to comment on because it is so so lovely. Our PH Family is made up from the whole gender spectrum and as a poet I love you all equally - through Poetry - equally irrespective of geneder. Your poems are so so gentle and take our breath away because (as men) we wonder if we could love as gently as sweetly as perfectly as undemandingly as one of our PH Sisters could - I don't think so but we all have a soft and gentle feminine side which might surprize you. I have Lady Friends who are bisexual and they complement me on being as 'gentle as a woman' in love making. Your poem is beautiful. In Verse One there is a very gentle and fragrant plea to your lover to show their love for you with: Caresses - Pleasuring - Gentle Kisses - Max Love - Support - Care - Intimate Mutual Sharing - these demands are awesome and the essence of true love. I am praying for you that you will find a lovely lady who will give you all those things. In Verse Two - What you offer in return for her love is equally awesome - Heart to Heart - Comforting - Intimate Closeness in a Night of Caresses - Kisses in Special Places to cause Butterflies (LOVELY) - Eye to Eye contact resulting in Soul Sharing - saying I LOVE YOU and hearing I LOVE YOU TOO in return (BEAUTIFUL) . Can I have you? - Can I be the one? these are the key questions of love. Monica - you have won my Poetic Heart - I regret I am the wrong gender to love you physically - but cerebrally I love you lots and lots! Because this is a PERFECT POEM - I have scored it TEN. Love you in Poetry - JOHN. I am honoured to be the first to comment on this very very elegant Love Poem.
