Can I Have It? Poem by Ojedokun Adeola

Can I Have It?

Can i have it?
Can i have a taste of you again?
I tasted it once
It tasted sweet, creamy, sumptuous, yummy
Once i tasted it, it tasted sweet
It felt creamy and nice
Can i?

Again i tasted it
But it tasted sour
I could climb the highest tree to get a pluck
I could dive the widest sea to get to it
I could go a million mile
Just to get another taste of you

At first, it was a dream
Then it turned to a film
Now, here it lays on my palms
Just like a key
I could open doors with it
But i can't
Because i need another feel of it.

I remember and fantasize in my uneven thoughts
How so much i cherished it
The crunchy, smooth sounds it leaves in my head.
The melting savour of its sweetness
How its unending taste dominate my eventful day
Like the sound of an lioness i munch its richness
My tongue testifies to this
And my entire system relates the memories daily.

With so much eagerness, i desire for more
But with great bitterness you've distanced yourself
In my eyes, i see a picture of you
On my heart i share your memories
My mind is an album of you.

1,2,3, i can count the number of times
I've been misled
Numerous times i have rejected them
I will go search,
Seek for the crunchy, sweet feed i miss
Then, i may find you.
