Can'T Eat Me Away Poem by Alice Cuenca

Can'T Eat Me Away

Something akin
To a termite is troubling me,
It eats its way to my heart

Undermine my mind
But yet heightening
My other senses.

A nightmare foretold
The little critter
Is ravenous like a lion.

Healers fill
The hollowed-out flesh
I scream and turn!

Blinded eyes,
Sooner will heed
My thew must repulse
