Can You Tell Us? Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Can You Tell Us?

Rating: 4.5

When days run out
At the beckon of dusk
When bodies weaken out
And the cocks come to roost

Can you tell us what happen next?

When the roads become deserted
And the drivers retire home
When the work places become vacated
And people go home not Rome

Can you tell us what happen next?

When the doors slam shut
As the curtains fall
When the lights become cut
Forcing the eyes to roll ball

Can you tell us what happen next?

Tell us what happen
Between the bodies and the souls
Tell us what happen
Between the man and the woman

Can you tell us what happen next?
