Candle Light Poem by Laquory Jones

Walked into a synagogue and sat among the pews
Life remained askew so many things becomes so
Hard to chew what do I do feeling pain that I never
Knew I would so many things tends to get overlooked
Is my face an open book I look into a mirror just to
See trying to hide the pain from underneath so I'm
Smiling Brain filing while people profiling me I do
This on repeat as soon as I hit the streets
People's pain truly bothers me perhaps that's what
Made me unique while stuck in life's labyrinth
Can I change the world(Richie use your common sense)
Changing the world have always been a myth

The clock hits midnight
The storms are at an all time high
Its dangers within my sights
But somehow I know it'll be alright
Spreading my wings across the skies
As I begin to take flight fire embers
Slowly igniting my enlightened fire
Catapulting toward that candle light
Toward that safe and sound
Becoming a B-E-A-C-O-N like you
Were to me knowing that no one will
Truly see what you meant to me

But knowing that you're in a better
Place somehow gives me peace But
Know the tears will never cease
Releasing these tears to help bring
Me at ease while thinking about sweet
Memories but promise me that you'll
Always remember me sometimes things
Are beyond our control that's when I
Grab my winter coat for a midnight scroll
Underneath the blistering cold just
Wanting to feel my emotions flow

Why do this I don't really know perhaps it's
All unintentional Life has never been
Conventional or traditional it's been full
Of pain but how would we grow if we
Never walk its terrain it hurts its
A shame while touching the wall of people
Names Nothing compares to the loss of Life
Perhaps they would say the same but some
How we jumped over hurdles and overcame
While shooting for the moon in bursting flames
Set the world on fire and decayed having no
Choice but to make a change so the future
Can see better days I guess all I'm trying to
Say is look for that candle light that shine
Throughout the nights just let it be your guide
Letting it empower you from deep inside
