Candle Light Poem by Meghan

Candle Light

in the dark room the candle light flickered
the breeze cam again and the flame, it shivered
the natural candle light,
a strong warrior against the night
burned long, so long into the midnight hour
delivering shower after sweet shower
of golden rays to dance upon my walls
and flutter down the stairs to shine within the halls
I thought that that light was mine forever and always to behold
a silken glow from the fiery gold
my world was ever so bright but that seems like such a long time ago
when the light had left, I'd never felt so low before
in crept the darkness, the lusterous room had fallen dead
seeping into my eyes and wandering through my head
