Castle In Eternal Woods Poem by Eden Verse

Castle In Eternal Woods

One Dewy morn in month of May
When meads and green were half asleep
The breeze was filled with blooms and hay
And by the lake were herds of sheep
In tinkling bells, I can not tell
The clouds they smiled in Glee or weep

I ventured in the echoing green
And saw such scene, thou never seen
O hark, O hear!
The sky was clear,
And on the earth
The sun hath smiled
The dewy blooms, in orchard room
With scented breath the clouds beguiled
They came in flocks on flocks in mead
They float like fleet in meadow wide
They faint in dale or Hamlet near
It was the eve of yester_year

The maidens sang as cut they crop
I wondered go forward or stop?
They called me from the hamlet's meads
But none of them asked me to stop

They chased and chased for several miles
Then by the Grove of vine they stopth
Their calls all faint and fail and died
On misty scene then curtains dropth

O life! O dale! My breath inhale
I have to go, there can't I dwell
Untrodden ways all harken me
I am listening their silent bell
Thousands of miles I left behind
I crossed the sand the earth the well

In whitish mist I saw a hut
And by it snow white horse I saw
It came and kneel down on the grass
I rode on it in fear and awe
It ran as fast as it could ran
I was enthralled by nature's plan
(Canto 2)

I followed ribbons from the heath
And galloped horse for hundred days
A mighty ocean then stopth me
As He was lying in my way

I came on shore of ocean wide
And saw a torn off ancient boat
I mend it there for weeks and weeks
With banyan wood and planks of oak

I started journey thence onward
To seek the earthly margin line
The Snowy beaches smiled at me
And so doth hanging ivy vine

I gazed and gazed at watery scene
I rowed and rowed in vast vast sea
And not a single boat I saw
On hoary isles that might be

I saw the land from several miles
I saw the greenish lonely hills
I came on shore and worshipped Him
Who brought me there as He hath will

The day was done, the dim star light
Came shimmering shimmering from the sky
I then entered in ancient woods
And saw the leafy boats fly

What then I saw I'll tell you?
It may be that not thou believe!
But thou promise _my sacred friend
Without listening thou can not leave

From there I saw the summits high
More ancient than the woods were they!
I saw carriages mossy green
As on the floor from centuries lay
In moonlit night I walked and walked
On ancient ancient forlorn way

My eyes then saw a Stony manse
As old as old as earth can be
His towers, donjon and drawbridge
As one in fairy Dreamland see

All heaven's high all heaven's high
So high that you can't understand
So high that songs of mirth and Glee
The heavens angels there all sang
The music float from far off stars
And came and came by ancient hills
While flocks of robins flew and flew
And stood in awe the snowy gulls

In lake the weed the sedge was green
And birds wild wild in silence pray
In moonlit night in moonlit charm
No one was there on woodland way

There stood the statues Stony still
The guards of castle and of hills
The water flowed and sang and sang
By ruins of ancient watermills

Came down and down the shooting stars
I think on Linkin hills they land
Where Adam Eve on their first day
Saw earth of God and meads and sand
With sacred sacred eyes they gazed
The tearful clouds and mystery land

With fingers they could touch the stars
As touch thou shimmering beaches sand
I saw the fall, by castle walls
And lake with whitish whitish ducks

They float in Glee, they dive and flee
O beauty blood of heart that sucks

I stood for hours and hours in awe
As if watching the heaven's scene
As if this is my father's land
Who came on earth from Eden green

I pinched so many times my cheeks
I thought that may I saw a dream
While smiled at me the Heaven's Lord
The Lord of world and Eden green

There saw I daisies in the grass
And shimmering stars in watery lake
The goddess moon was in the sky
While moon did float in earthen lake

Forgot I earthly sorrows sting
Forgot I orchards withering bloom
Forgot I aching painful heart
Forgot I hovering misty doom

Forgot I tears and all the gloom
In earthly people's heart that dwell

Forgot I freezing parching lips
That ope but can't a story tell

As if goddess of mirth and Glee
Encamped in endless deeps of
heart
Where burning lamps of hope will shine
Where angels bring the starry cart
The clouds and mist float hand in hand
With magic paint of painters art

Thousands of scenes of mirth and Glee
Someone had carved on castle's gate

I was enchanted by the woods
Enchanted by that castle great
No one was there by opened door
So entered there I without wait

I wished to walk on darkling dew
In silent orchard by the wall
I hadn't heard a person's voice
Thousands of times from court I call(called)

I heard the voice of wild wild wren
I heard the cuckoo who there sings
While breeze blew and birds flew
And forlorn mystery bell hence rings

Enchanted entered I in hall
And saw pictures of ancient time
Who is that sweetest babygirl?
With silent lips sings beauty rhyme

In misty eve in dark dark woods
I think that she forgot the way

Oh lonely lass why thou shed tears
Why with thy lips thou nothing say

Thou seemed to me a fairy's child
Thine eyes are dipped in Honey dew
Thy dress in rainbows dipped and soaked
Thy lips as red as rosy hue

Oh stop for once, for once thou stop
I heard someone in courtyard say
Someone calling me by my name
Oh wait I'll see what he say(, says)
I heard the laughing jingling sound
While empty swings in air sway

Who is that king on royal seat?
Who is that queen in beauty flowers?
Is this the princess of the state?
Which holds the candles in glass
jar?

All maidens there in silken dress
On royal family who wait on
They brought from forest manna' dew
And placed in Centr of the lawn

I came and came mid starlight dim
And all of them hailed me warmly
And smiled they all, smiled they all time
And sang they hymns of mirth and Glee
In lang that never thou have heard
Such lang in all world can not be

They talked and I cannot them heard
At me all gazed with mirth and Glee
In eyes such love as they have found
Last princess of their family tree

I walked and walked in moonlit night
I walked and went to corridor
I turned to see them for a while
But that scene in yard was no more
And thence I stand on lonely stairs
As forlorn ship on empty shore

The howling rustling Wind then blew
And yellowish leaves came thence appalled
What saw I by then grove of trees
With very scene I was enthralled

Saw whitish graves bathed in moonbeams
And whitish whitish all tomb stones
All giggling sounds of fairies fade
I heard and heard then sighs and moans

I heard the call of thousand souls
With moaning winds from windows come
While tinkling jingling ancient bells
In curious way they me welcome

I went upstairs as in a dream
And oped the ancient attic door
Thousands of pages here then
flew
From ancient cornice dusty floor

Not stop me by thy ancient words
I can't this language understand
Here I can hear the roaring waves
Of far off seas in far off land

Hundreds of mystic mystery scenes
That seen I from the castle's top
I walked and walked as if in dream
I'm on Cacusus mountain top

Which creepers hung by those tall trees?
Of wild wild vines or mistletoe?
Which yellowish boats in air float?
Is this the dream or magic show?

Which fountain plays in blackish hills?
Which whitish gems from hence spring?
Is this elixir sought by all?
To dying souls that life bring

I'm wondering that who made thou
I'm praising thy painter's art
O castle, from some fairyland!
In heart of woods, who thee hath brought

Thousands of mirthful birds I see
And sang they all in mirth and Glee
Deep sorrow prest my aching breast
As heavy as in world can be

There leapt to me from dark casements
The shadows of the candles all
They told me thousands of the yarns
And eager eager were they all
They lived in nearby shady hut
Near cedar tree by waterfall
And I vowed that I'll be there
In heart of woods till heaven's call

And hence I live in beauteous manse
In heart of woods of wonderland
And hence I pray for ancient souls
On grassy floor on silver sand
I wished and wished to see Him there
For Moses Who on Earth did land

If ever ever you have wish
To see this beauteous manse in wood
Then turn the pages of my book
And indeed I wish that you should
