Catalina Tears Poem by Bill Simmons

Catalina Tears

Rating: 5.0

In the Catalina Valley
Is a place few have seen
Surrounded by her mountains
Where flowers bloom, grasses green

Is a cottage made of cedar
That has stood a hundred years
Lives a woman and her daughter,
'Catalina Tears'

Once a long time ago
When the woman was not so old
She fell in love with a stranger
But one day he would go

The day that he went away
Within her something died
For the echo’s of the valley
It was the day the valley cried

In the Catalina Valley
In a cottage on a hill
Catalina Tears was born
With her mother lives there still

Sometimes love it walks away
And left behind throughout the years
Is the thing that love it gave
The most beautiful, Catalina Tears.

2006 Bill Simmons
