Catechism Poem by Andy Brookes

Catechism

Rating: 5.0

Do I want to be a cat, she asks,
well can you make me one I said
sure why not what kind she purred
I want to be a Marmalade cat,
that stalks the night's alleys
in short an ally cat

independent living on my wits
soft pawed a hearts thief
but having no master nor mistress.

to spend my days basking in the sun
my nights prowling my territory,
fighting for food and charming all the lady cats
so do it I say waiting
but she left breaking yet another promise.
