Catharsis Poem by Ricky Lewis

Catharsis

I see so dark this still vision
A poisoned lens upon reality
My soul escaping the incision
Dreaming inside of the geniality

What would you do if you saw me inside?
Saw me so weak and cold, as if I had died?

If this dream would last forever I would never let go
This great sight of unity would be my only dream today
Can you pride yourself on knowing I’ll be there, waiting
Waiting for you to see who I am, what would you say?

I grip tight to these words, praying you’ll see the real me
My grasp unstopping for you to hold on and see
I will not be afraid to love, not afraid to lose and be
But god help me hold on to your fading eyes

What would you do if you saw me inside?
Saw me so weak and cold, as if I had died?
I just want you to love me
I just want somebody to love me

If this dream would last forever I would never let go
This great sight of unity would be my only dream today
Can you pride yourself on knowing I’ll be there, waiting
Waiting for you to see who I am, what would you say?
