Shattered, yearning for stability.
His past love tainted,
Now his heart is battered,
And seeks tranquility.
He faintly whispers, 'I love you, '
To a new lover
O so silently.
While he moves his head in fear,
Ever so cautiously.
As he wonders, 'Did she hear me? '
While her mind wonders, 'Could it be? '
Acts of love and affection
Given to her quite generously.
He makes love to her,
Countlessly.
Starring in her eyes
As he moans and trembles,
Revealing emotion so honestly.
Yet, he is so cautiously
Driven by his past.
That he wonders, 'Did she hear me? '
While she wonders, 'Could it be? '
Shattered, yearning for stability.
Ever so cautiously.
