Chant Flute Poem by Luo Zhihai

Chant Flute

★ Chant Flute

☆ Poetry by Liu Xiaosun (? -632, Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

Autumn night whistled. Cool
Wind blew ninety per cent of its tunes
Vehement in high tones
Sad and mild in lower notes
Soldier had heart filled with his farewell moods
Neighbor thought of the former love, too
Luckily the bosom friends pay close attention to it
Thousand years continues its fantastic toot

☆ 刘孝孙 诗

凉秋夜笛鸣
流风韵九成
调高时慷慨
曲变或凄清
征客怀离绪
邻人思旧情
幸以知音顾
千载有奇声
