Childhood Escaped Poem by valsala shan

Childhood Escaped

Sweet liquid splashing across these fingers…
Cool, memories of yesteryears flow….
Mesmerizing the thoughts to be still as snow ……
Lest the present is here and now….
Shadows of childhood loves lingers ….

Loves of the laughter and loves of the tears…
Ice-cream cones and wicked fears …
Lollipops which demand the tongue of pleasures …
Cotton-candy whipped and streaked in colours….
Dreams of hopes and wishes stroked across blue rivers..

Jolted into reality of the reaches of adulthood…
Missing are those memories of childhood escaped…
Yearning to be back to gay merriment in thoughts brood…
Ice-cream, cotton-candy and rainbows landscaped…
Where are you my child? I ask in wonder…

I am here my youth….beneath this shell of ponder..
I am here my life….beneath this wheel of wonder….
