Choices! Poem by Mehreen Tahir

In every little moment,
with every breath we take,
there is one special moment,
that forever stays.
In that special moment,
the blessed among us do,
our own little miracle,
by our right to choose.
By blessed I mean,
those who understand,
that every moment is special,
every choice in our hand.
We make our own destiny,
let God be our guide,
but we, ourselves, have to distinguish,
between darkness and light.
The good and evil,
all lies hidden,
in the mysteries of life,
we have to fathom.
On every step,
by our choice we decide,
whether we stride forward,
or falter and die.
We are all different,
by the choices we make,
by the dreams we have,
and action we undertake.
To make the right choices,
don’t follow the bandwagon,
just listen to your heart,
on every step and turn.
By the choices we make,
we mould our own lives,
so be true to yourself,
and let your heart decide!
