Chrysalis Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Chrysalis

Rating: 5.0

There is a choice
in an energy found
beyond one's lone voice
that voice, so often held mute.
And within these confines are things
that bind my thoughts, that scream out
to such darkness blinding out all light.
Light once shone above all unknown
in a lifetime's potential; that
potential now starved of breath.
It is in these suffocating provinces
that I waiver, low and lonely
suffering my self, claiming
my nous and wandering
within these tight bindings
of thought's burdens, as despair
reigns above every horror
rising to the forefront of my mind.
So then and again I scream at fate
loudly and above all consciousness
at the loss of loved ones, at the loss
of time until I find that one tear
in this fabric that binds me.
My breathing wanes
as calmness reclaims
terror's disorder in this moment
and I slowly arise towards the new dawn.

Light once shone above all is unknown but light carries wisdom. This awakens consciousness and gives wonderful reflections. Loss of loved ones brings sadness but light of wisdom gives power to resist. Amazing poem is shared is valuable...10

Aloha Kumarmani... The light that brings wisdom is sorely lacking in these days and times... In this passage I attempt to bring a last awakening moment to my personal life journey... sort of an all or nothing attempt that all of us old guys should make... we each need to shear off that old fabric my brother, for all the good it has done us, we now need a new cloth to enable us to move forward into what remains of this world... Iam curious about this power to resist which you mention... I have discovered over the years to accept and welcome that which causes me to resist and to mingle with this in a 'friendly' adversarial grasp letting that realize in itself, it is not a threat that I cannot admonish... I prefer that the 'light of wisdom' would allow one to become one's true potential in a single lifetime...I do appreciate your read of this work and value your most astute comments... All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... Michaelw1two
