Circular Poem by Andy Brookes

Circular

Today I saw the circles end or was it its beginning?
that's the funny thing about endings, they are alwaysbeginnings
the start of new adventures the next step in the cycle.

we turn the page at the turn of the tide;
white unwritten futures before us blank.
we write our history in spiders webs, falling leaves and the gentle
or not so gentle winds of fortune blow us to our destiny..

we laid him deep in earth today but not solemnly,
with gravity yes but great joy too, for he loved to laugh.
as the gaily coloured balloons soared skyward
I hope his soul did too.

so in his end, was his beginning,
and we at the end of his chapter
opened a new one in ours

life gives us love and memories
and while we remember, he lives.

so we come full circle, the snake forever eating its tail.
Today I saw the circles end or was it its beginning?
I guess I'll never know.
