City Lights Poem by Gianfranco Aurilio

City Lights

Today I don't want to get drunk
on the lights of the city
with its noises, its shouting.
Today I don't want to fill myself
with music until I burst,
I don't want sounds nor voices around me.
I will climb on a star
and holding it by the hand
we'll watch the world from up there
until the lights of the city
call me again.
