Clouds Over The City Poem by William Greco

Clouds Over The City

with a melancholy smile
I invoke the clouds
just to wash away
sweet freckles from your cheeks
and also all our sins
and also all the filth
down from the streets
where we used to play
when we were cute small kids

I invoke the rain
to wash away all spots
all cinnamon stains
from your pretty face
only because you don't want
to have them anymore these days

with all the spots of your beauty
I want to be washed away
away with them right to the sea
and sail with the last memory
you left here with love for me
sail with you in my heart
sail with you on my mind
to infinity
to infinity
