Cocoon Poem by Ibn Ali

Cocoon

I'm only joking
Yes
See the truth cocooned in jest
So it emerges in flight a butterfly
What was covered looks ugly when undressed
I've spoken what's in my heart
But costumed it to make you laugh
Nobody dares to be hated
Why this constant need to be loved
Let's reach out with bare truths
Why this need to be gloved
That's why the message never gets there
It's incorrectly addressed
So the message is met with laughter
No attention for What's actually said
Put the poison in the cup
Sugared to the brim
Plant the flowers in the garden
Stinging nettles in the bunch
Just enough to let you know that something's wrong
