Cocooned Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Cocooned

Rating: 4.0

Earth has become a place
More alien than space
A world so dangerous
That I am afraid to breathe
A world devoid of hope, devoid of faith
The people have hearts so dense with hate
That it is impossible for love to penetrate

In my transparent cocoon made of solid air
I float above this pathetic world
My eyes are bleeding tears
Because I pity those who live there
There is so much evil, so much sorrow
That they pollute even the atmosphere

So in my cocoon I continue to hide
Fearing the things and people
That are outside
Darkness is the only light I see
Earth is a horrendous place
I no longer want to be.
