Coffee Cigarettes Chocolate And You Poem by Millie Fraser

Coffee Cigarettes Chocolate And You

There is nothing more,
The sunshine is everywhere,
It drips from the sky,
A liquid happiness that is golden and warm.
When the stars fell they marked our skin,
Tiny scars across our bodies
That tingle and never fade.
We're someplace between midnight picnics
Of coffee and cigarettes,
Long mornings of sleep and kisses that leave us drenched in glitter
And hazy weekends almost sweet enough to hurt.
There is nothing more,
These days filled with bright light keep us safe.
Let us smile as the music from previous hours
Drifts through our consciousness,
And we move our sleepy bones
As it teases and caresses.
