Cognizant Of Your Lies Poem by June FeirCruz

Cognizant Of Your Lies

A lightbulb moment in my head
Catch phrases in your texts
The word 'lifestyle' peppered your sentences
Remind me of the rich and famous
Free to do as they please.
All of a sudden I am cognizant of your lies
All these months of mind games
That you fill my head with.
Two is a company
Three is a crowd
Four is a disaster waiting to go down.
You have been buying my affection from day one
I was busy falling in love all at once.
I thought you had game.
And I thought you got me
But all it was, was just an illusion
And now it is repulsion
Of this lie called love.
