Colour Blind

The silver light of moon has passed
Though shaking I am still,
Anger boils in side my blood
To think you’re at her will
My green green eyes interpret that
You two are more than close
Because the smile I thought was mine
You show to her now most,
A fire builds in side of me
But cool you are with in
While I am red with angry thought
You chilled like blue to rim
My eyes are green as envy builds
Your eyes are still so brown
You may be blind to what I feel
Because feelings I’ve not shown
I’m dead outside a smile I lack
To see a rainbow form
When close to her your colours shine
You look so yellow and warm
But I am red and green and black
Anger, Envy life I lack
In me the colour I cannot find
Because without you I’m colourblind.

poet Sarah Flower Adams

O Love! thou makest all things even
In earth or heaven;
Finding thy way through prison-bars
Up to the stars;
Or, true to the Almighty plan,
That out of dust created man,
