Coming Back To The Same Old Thing Poem by Shilesha Johnson

Coming Back To The Same Old Thing

I didn't want to go back to
The same thing that made me walk away
You tried to plead your case to get me to stay
After telling you no, and giving it more thought
I figured it was commendable that you at least fought
Or at least through a fist
And I could've came up with plenty of reasons why I shouldn't of
In fact a whole list
But I found one good reason why
And that was enough for me to open up and try
But the moment I decided to, I happened to see
That you were still acting the same way that made me leave
And that was one good reason to be done for good
Because you can plead your case and claim you've changed
But in reality you never would
