Community College Biology Class

the days of youth
going to college
community college
where textbooks were cheap
and you get a good education
and the worm was given
to pre-med majors
and future teachers
cutting open his gizzards
with a scalpel knife
looking at algae
under expensive microscopes
even the biology students
felt sick
with a dead worm
in a silver pan
and you run home
to tell your mother!

Poem of the Day

poet Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,

When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
