Compass Poem by Mike Hester

Compass

Rating: 5.0

(To Bailey, an incredible child)

You are my compass on stormy seas,
Pointing the way when no land is seen -
You’re in my thoughts, you are my dreams,
You are the brisk wind that sets me free.

You are my courage when I am weak,
You are my voice when I cannot speak.
In a locked world, you are the key -
Your eyes reveal things I cannot see.

Oh, child of mystery - son of the stars,
I am a piece of all that you are.
Partake the wonder that you will be,
I ask just one thing: remember me.
